2006-Feb-08: Sir Paul at the Grammys

Sir Paul rocked the Grammy Award ceremony this evening performing a total of three tunes, including a surprise collaboration with Chester Benington of Linkin Park and rapper Jay-Z. The trio performed Yesterday with Sir Paul and Chester Benington singing the melody and Jay-Z (dressed in a John Lennon T-shirt) rapping over the tune. At the end of their performance, Jay-Z asked the audience, "Sounds so beautiful, don't you agree?"

Later Sir Paul and his band sang Fine Line from his Grammy-nominated album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. Sir Paul told the audience:

"It's the first time I've ever played the Grammys,and I've finally passed the audition. So I want to rock a bit."

With that, he delighted the audience with a hard rocking performance of Helter Skelter.

Unfortunately, Sir Paul left the award ceremony without winning a Grammy.
