Sir Paul thinks he knows why he was asked to perform during the half-time show at Sunday's Super Bowl game:
"They had the idea I might not have a wardrobe malfunction. I can tell you I won't. I had a slight inkling when they asked me it might be with that in mind. We're the type of band that will just use the time to rock. The message of my songs is 'Peace, love, come together.' It's the same old me, but I can't think of anything better.
"I didn't see what happened last year. Everybody told me what happened. "It has nothing to do with me. I don't have a wardrobe to malfunction. No worries on that score."
During a news conference today, Sir Paul threw a football into the crowd confessed that he is a football fan:
"At first I didn't get the game. Then somebody said to watch the guy in the middle, the quarterback. Once I got that, I loved the game."
Sir Paul will perform live for 12 minutes on Sunday, with no restrictions and no time delay on the television broadcast. Sir Paul explained:
"I was just told how long I had to play, I told them what I planned to do and they said OK. I'm pretty much doing what I want. Things will be fine. I'm sure Jacksonville will pull it off."
