Sir Paul has joined some of the leading names in film and music to support a new initiative aimed at ridding the world of poverty. Sir Paul (along with Busted, Jamelia, Bono, Scarlet Johansson, Stephen Fry, and Travis' Fran Healey) has pledged his support to the Make Poverty History campaign which calls attention to the the suffering caused by poverty and asks world leaders to cancel debts from the poorest nations and those under constant threat of poverty . Make Poverty History is supported by many religious groups and world charities including Oxfam and World Vision. Supporters of the the campaign are encouraged to wear the White Band - the armband symbol of the Make Poverty History campaign.
