Newcastle's Evening Chronicle reported today on a Sir Paul's night out with a friend at a club in Fatfield Village, Washington, the town where Heather was born. According to the North Biddick Social Club's manager, Monica Graham, she was told by one of the regulars to expect Sir Paul to drop in for a pint, but was asked to keep it a secret:
"Fortunately, I can keep a secret and didn't tell a soul, not even my own family. George, who has been a regular for five years, had always promised he would bring Sir Paul and he told me a week before. He looks tremendous, much younger than he is and he is such a lovely, polite person. Sir Paul is very friendly. He has no airs or graces and he shook hands with everyone who came to see him."
Sir Paul enjoyed a pint of North Smooth during his two-hour stay at the club. When he left, he thanked Ms. Graham and gave her a kiss on the cheek:
"All the regulars are teasing me, saying I probably haven't washed my cheek since."
