It was being reported today that Sir Paul will appear on the remake of the new Band Aid single Do They Know It's Christmas? According to reports, Sir Paul will play bass on the recording, but he will not sing. A spokesman for Sir Paul said today he could not confirm whether the 62-year-old star, who is today on his way back from the United States, had agreed to take part in the November 14 recording. However, another sources is quoted as saying, "It's great news that Macca is involved. He is a real statesman and will give this record even more clout."
The single will be issued Nov. 29 in the U.K. on Mercury/Universal. The original Band Aid single raised $14 million for Ethiopian famine relief.
