Sir Paul announced to day that a limited edition single for children will be released by EMI Records on September 20th. The single will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his original frog song We All Stand Together which reached No. 3 in the U.K. charts in 1984. The single will feature Sir Paul's new children's song, Tropical Island Hum, the title track of his new animated film. It is Sir Paul's first release since he headlined at the Glastonbury Festival in June. Sir Paul states:
I dont often write songs deliberately for children but we made this new film for kids and the film needed a song. As a songwriter Im always interested in trying to write music in different styles, so I took the challenge of trying to write another one for kids. I shouldnt imagine that too many of the Glastonbury bands would follow performing Helter Skelter there with releasing a single for children by a cartoon squirrel, but its ringing the changes like this which keeps me interested in the possibilities."
