2004-Jun-24: The Cloud Seeding of St. Petersburg

The London Guardian reports that SAV Entertainments, the Moscow company hired to promote Sir Paul's St. Petersburg appearance, made sure that no rain would fall on his Palace Square concert. The concert promoters hired three jets to dump vast quantities of dry ice ( frozen carbon dioxide) to lick the rain inside the clouds - a technique known as cloud seeding. According to Sir Paul's spokesman, Geoff Baker, the seeding was a success:

"It was pissing down beforehand and then it became so sunny that Brian Ray, the guitarist, had to get one of his roadies to fetch his shades."
