2004-Apr-11: Sir Paul to Appear on "The Early Show" Tomorrow Morning

The New York Post reports that tomorrow morning, Sir Paul will appear on the CBS "The Early Show" to discuss the release of his new DVD Paul McCartney - Music and Animation Collection with national correspondent, Hattie Kauffman. This will be his first interview since the birth of baby Beatrice Milly.

The new special edition 43-minute DVD will be released on Tuesday. Together with animation director, Geoff Dunbar, Sir Paul produced and and provided the voices of the characters for three award-winning animation shorts: Rupert and the Frog Song, Tropic Island Hum, and Tuesday. The songs featured in the films have never been released in any audio format in the U.S. The music includes songs written and sung by Sir Paul as well as Tuesday's never-before-released 13-minute orchestral suite.

The films were inspired by Sir Paul's love for Walt Disney's classic animation style that he enjoyed as a child in Liverpool. It took nearly two years to create each film, with Geoff Dunbar overseeing a team of 50-120 artists who used traditional handcrafted Disney-style to produce the animation. The DVD will include footage of the process used to produce the animation. According to Mr. Dunbar:

"I don't accept the notion that computer-generated animation has or will ever replace traditional hand-drawn animation. That doesn't mean that my kids and I don't enjoy films like Finding Nemo, but classic animation like that of Walt Disney will always have a place in every family home."

Next week, Sir Paul's film Give My Regards to Broad Street will be released on DVD. The 108-minute DVD will be released on April 20.
