The Moscow Times is reporting today that "initial agreements" have been made by Sir Paul's agents for a McCartney concert in St. Petersburg, Russia to take place this May. A spokesman for Alfa Bank claims that Barry Marshall, Sir Paul's tour director, has contacted the bank for help in promoting the concert. Last Thursday, Moscow-based entertainment news agency, Intermedia, reported that Sir Paul had written to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the subject of a concert in St. Petersburg. Sir Paul visited St. Petersburg in 2003 during the city's 300th anniversary celebrations, but did not perform there.
