This Spring, three McCartney animations will be released on DVD. Harvey Weinstein of Miramax Films has purchased the rights to Sir Paul's Tropic Island Hum, Tuesday, and Rupert And The Frog Song.
This is not the first McCartney-Weinstein collaboration. They worked together on The Concert For New York which raised $35 million for the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Mr. Weinstein has released a statement in which he praises Sir Paul animation talents saying:
While the world knows Paul as a creative, musical genius, he is also a master of animation, and Im thrilled to be working with him again. These three titles are breathtaking and will be a real treat for families to watch together.Sir Paul and his long-time collaborator, Geoff Dunbar, have been working together to create additional special effects in the films to enhance the animation. The DVDs will also feature Sir Paul in some newly recorded live-action footage. According to Sir Paul:
"I've loved animation since I was a little kid and I'm proud that Harvey and Miramax are handling the release of these three little gems."
